LET'S TALK ABOUT WHAT'S UNDER YOUR HAIR

Same flakes.
Same itch.
Sound familiar?

You wash your hair. You switch shampoos. You check your shoulders. Again.

And somehow, your scalp still feels coated. If that sounds like you, there may be more going on than dry skin.

A yeast called Malassezia naturally lives on our skin. In some people, the yeast and the scalp's own oils play a role in dandruff and irritation.

That doesn't mean you're dirty. It means your scalp deserves a little attention of its own.

The science behind the yeast connection

Meet my new routine
  1. 1

    Wet. Part. Apply.

Thoroughly wet your hair, then work a small amount directly onto your scalp.

  2. 2

    A massage, not a scratch.

Use your fingertips in small, gentle circles. Let the scrub sit for a few minutes.

  3. 3

    Rinse. Shampoo. Ahh.

Rinse thoroughly, then shampoo as usual. Follow the label and adjust frequency to your scalp.

YOUR FIRST THREE MONTHS. AND BEYOND.

Think beyond
the first wash.

The first win may be a cleaner-feeling scalp. Over time, the goal is a comfortable routine that helps keep buildup manageable.

  1. First few washes

    A fresh-start feeling.

As loosened flakes and surface residue rinse away, your scalp may feel cleaner and less coated. That's a useful first win, even if some visible flakes remain.

  2. Weeks 2–4

    Look for the little wins.

Check for fewer loose flakes after washing, less residue at the roots and a more comfortable scalp. A weekly comparison with your starting point can help you see whether the routine is helping.

  3. Weeks 5–8

    Find your steady routine.

If you're seeing improvement, focus on maintaining it. You may find you need to exfoliate less often as buildup becomes easier to manage. Follow the label and let your scalp's comfort guide you.

  4. 3 months & beyond

    Keep the good days going.

Your scalp keeps producing oil and shedding skin, and styling products can leave fresh residue. A routine that suits you can help keep surface buildup manageable. Ongoing upkeep is the long-term goal.

These are suggested check-in points. Individual results and timing vary; the later stages are for a routine that's already helping. Use gentle pressure and follow the product label.

Persistent itching, redness or flaking deserves a dermatologist's advice. Stop using the scrub if it causes irritation.

FAIR QUESTIONS. STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

A little more
peace of mind.

Because trying something new
should feel good.

Wait — what does fungus have to do with flakes?

Malassezia is a yeast that naturally lives on the skin. It can play a role in dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis, alongside scalp oils and your skin's response. It doesn't mean your scalp is dirty, and not every flaky scalp has the same cause. BeKynd is an exfoliating scalp-care step, not an antifungal medicine.

How is this different from shampoo?

Shampoo cleanses your scalp and hair. This scrub adds a dedicated exfoliating step before shampooing: salicylic acid helps loosen dead skin, and fine pumice helps your fingertips lift it away. They have different jobs and can work in the same routine.

How often should I use it?

BeKynd's directions recommend 2–3 times a week before shampooing. Start less often if your scalp is sensitive, use light pressure and follow the product label. Reduce frequency or stop if irritation develops.

Is it suitable for my hair type?

It's a scalp treatment, so part your hair and apply directly to the skin. Rinse thoroughly before shampooing. If you have extensions, braids or a protective style, check that you can reach your scalp and rinse the product out fully, and follow your stylist's advice.

What if I have psoriasis or a sensitive scalp?

Check with your dermatologist before adding an exfoliant to a routine for a diagnosed scalp condition. Don't scrub broken, bleeding or acutely inflamed skin. Patch test first, avoid ingredients you are allergic to and keep following prescribed treatment.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

A cleaner feel after washing can be an early change. Over the following weeks, check whether visible flakes, surface buildup and scalp comfort are improving. If the routine helps, the longer-term aim is maintaining those benefits. See the suggested check-ins through three months and beyond. Individual results and timing vary.

Do I have to subscribe?

No. You can buy one time. BeKynd also offers subscription options on its product page if you prefer regular deliveries. Review your selected offer and any recurring terms before completing checkout.
